ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congratulations to Andy Link for being inducted into the Warren County SportsHall of Fame

Basketball ballers, baseball stars and the man who tells everybody to "Believe in yourself." The Warren County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024 has a little bit of everything.

The newest inductees were announced this week as eight standouts in the world of Warren County sports will be honored this year. The list includes super fan Charles 'Slim' Ingalls, standouts for Pioneer baseball Phillip King, Greg King and Jimmy Walker, Lady Pioneer hardwood greats Jennifer Wilson and Jessica Grayson, double-double machine from the 1970s Raymond Martin and three-sport letterman Andy Link from the start of Warren County Senior High.

“We’re honored to be able to recognize such a great group of contributors to Warren County athletics,” said WC sports Hall of Fame board president Danny Martin. “These fine individuals represent the best of Warren County athletics and their impacts have left a lasting impression. We’re thrilled to be adding their names of the Sports Hall of Fame.”

Link began his a high school career at McMinnville Central before becoming the first starting QB for Warren County Senior High when the schools unified. Link lettered in football, basketball and baseball for the Pioneers his final two years, including being named team captain of the basketball team and throwing a no-hitter during his senior year on the diamond.

The Class of 2024 will be inducted at a ceremony later this year. The Standard will have features on each individual Hall of Famer in the weeks leading up to the induction ceremony.

Hello Class of '71!

Time to support your donation for Back to the Strip again this year!!

Back to the Strip will be "happening" in a bit over one week...May 4…and WE need to support Meals on Wheels again like we have been!!

Again, the Class of '71 is supporting Back to the Strip again this year, so think how blessed our class is and donate  ANY  AMOUNT  you want!  Remember, the older we get, the chance of class members may need support later!

Please support Meals on Wheels by sending a check with any amount ($5, $10, $20, $50, $100...of any amount you want) to Angela Jones Heffington as soon as possible.

The money for Meals on Wheels STAYS in Warren County to support folks that need help!

Make sure the check is for "Back to the Strip" to make it easier for everyone (it will also give credit for Class of '71 too, so put “Class on '71” on the bottom left area on your check!!).  Any amount is a tax deduction for your 2024 IRS too!

Angela is still our treasurer and we all appreciate her doing the extra effort to support the Class of '71 and Back to the Strip!!

Here is her address to save your research:

Angela J. Heffington

866 Indian Mound Drive

McMinnville, TN 37110

Thanks to all of the Class of '71!!

So far Angela has received only $500.  Please send your check to her by May 2.
